Ballerina Samba ®


Description: Ballerina Samba is a recently introduced variety and much improved Ballerina apple, more compact and vertical in habit. Although this is very similar in shape to other Ballerina varieties, this particular Ballerina produces short side shoots before turning sharply vertical. Fruits are yellow flushed bright ruby-red. Flesh is crisp, juicy and fresh with a sweet and sharp taste. Excellent for cooking, eating fresh or making homepressed apple juice. The apples can also be used to make crab apple style jelly. Beautiful clusters of deep pink blossom arrives during the spring.

History: Developed at East Malling Research Station, Kent in 1996. Later introduced in 2008.
