Description: Brunswick is a large, deciduous shrub that has 'hand' shaped dark green leaves. Produces large pear-shaped fruits with green-yellow skin. Flesh is yellow with a red centre; delicious and sweet in flavour. Very suitable for growing in any UK climate as it's very hardy, tolerant to cold and wet conditions and good for growing outdoors.
Fig Growing Tips: Happy when planted in the ground or in pots, prefer a sunny location, indoors or outdoors. Hard pruning is recommended to encourage young replacement shoots on old 'woody' plants. Figs ooze a white sap when pruned in the spring or summer. This is not harmful but can cause irriration to the skin. Pinching out of strong growing tips in mid summer encourages the development and ripening of the current crop.
