Dalmatie Fig

Fig

Description: Dalmatie is a variety that's very well suited to the British climate being very hardy. Produces a heavy crop of very large, green fruit of high quality. Deep red flesh, thats juicy and sweet. Very long lobed leaves. Neat and compact in habit, excellent for smaller spaces in the garden.

Fig Growing Tips: Happy when planted in the ground or in pots, prefer a sunny location, indoors or outdoors. Hard pruning is recommended to encourage young replacement shoots on old 'woody' plants. Figs ooze a white sap when pruned in the spring or summer. This is not harmful but can cause irriration to the skin. Pinching out of strong growing tips in mid summer encourages the development and ripening of the current crop.
