Description: Betula pendula 'Fastigiata Joes'® has a very narrow and neat pyramidal growing habit, quite different to most other Birch. This variety is perfect for small spaces and also looks magnificent when planted in lines along an avenue or driveway. Small, attractive green leaves appear in the spring alongside the yellow catkins. Bark will turn a striking white after 4-5 years with pretty twisting branches. Autumn colours of yellow and orange. A breakthrough in tree selection and an exciting addition to our offering.

History: EU20141206 Originated from The Netherlands.

Betula Growing Tips: They will succeed on most soils with certain species happy even in wet sites. Although tolerant of chalk soils they will not reach a maximum size in these conditions. Best planted in a full sun position.
