Forsythia x intermedia ‘Lynwood’ Forsythia


Description: 'Lynwood' is a vigorous medium-sized deciduous shrub, upright in growth, with narrowly ovate or sometimes trifoliate dark green leaves, that turn yellow with purple tinges in autumn. Bright yellow flowers cover the tree with bloom before the foliage emerges in late winter to early spring.

History: A bud sport of 'Spectabilis', which arose in the garden of Miss Adair of Cookstown, Co. Tyrone, and was put into commerce by the Slieve Donard Nursery Co. in 1935. Received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.

Forsythia Growing Tips: They require lime free soil.
