Koelreuteria paniculata ‘Fastigiata’ Koelreuteria


Description: Slow-growing cultivar with a remarkably narrow, column-shaped manner of growth. The leaves are a bronze colour in the spring and turn yellow to orange in the autumn. Panicles of attractive yellow flowers appear in mid-summer on even quite young specimens and in a hot year, these flowers are followed by pinkish-red, bladder-like fruit.

History: The original tree was raised at Kew Gardens from seeds sent by Miss Corner in 1888 from Shanghai.

Koelreuteria Growing Tips: Grow as a specimen tree in moist but well-drained soil in a full sun position.
