Description: Cornish Aromatic is a high-quality late dessert apple. It's fruits are very handsome, bright red in colour with fine grey russet patches and darker red stripes which almost cover the base. Flesh is white, tinged green. Firm and fine-textured with a sweet, sharp pear drop, spice flavour. Delicious when picked and eaten straight from the tree and home-pressed apple juice. Stunning light pink blossom during the spring. Primarily an Exhibition variety but now mostly grown in gardens.
History: Found growing in Cornwall, England. Brought to notice by Sir Christopher Hawkins who sent the fruit to the London Horticultural Society in 1813, but thought to be many centuries old.
