Description: Captain Tom is a distinctive large dual purpose variety that prodcues angular shaped fruits that have delicious, sweet flavour and crisp, juicy texture. Excellent when cooked into pies, crumbles, sauces etc and also tasty when eaten straight from the tree. In the spring produces unusually beautiful large pink blossom.

History: Discovered by Geoffrey Knight from Colwall in Malvern, Worcestershire. Introduced by Frank P Matthews.
