Trinity™ Apple

Apple

Description: Dark red-skinned and red-fleshed early cooking apple. Pretty pink blossom and attractive leaves. Makes delicious pies and sauces. Ripens in August and keeps well into autumn. Flowering group 2 so cross pollinates with most other varieties. Disease resistant and compatible with all popular rootstocks. This apple is extremely easy to grow and will tolerate most soils and situations. High in vitamins, antioxidants, tannins and anthocyanins it is extremely healthy. There is no need to peel this apple as the skin dissolves when cooked. Can be used as a trained tree, cordon or freestanding garden tree. In spring the tree produces pretty pink blossom perfect for bees and butterflies and has attractive leaves.

History: The breeder was Jerzy Bartoszewicz, a Polish war veteran (1922-2012) who bred it in his back garden in Twickenham. Jerzy came to the UK as a refugee in 1947. He was a keen gardener and amateur breeder. His granddaughter Alex Turner contacted us about this remarkable apple which we recognised as very special and worth propagating.

Won 'Best in Show' at the HTA National Plant Show 2020.
