Description: Large blooms of elder that flower from the end of May to beginning of June. Partially self fertile and will pollinate with naturally occurring hedgerow elder or other cultivars. This variety produces the largest and darkest berries which are occur in heavy umbels up to 200g each. They are very high in anthocyanins and antioxidants and can be used for a host of applications from juices, pies, jams to dyes as they are high in colour. The flowers can also be used for flower extract, cordials and other flavourings. This variety ripens a little earlier than Haschberg.
