Excalibur Plum

Plum

Description: Excalibur is a good quality dessert plum. A vigorous tree, shy cropping but sacrificing quantity for quality is worthwhile in this case. Fruits are pale yellow, mostly covered with red/orange flush and dots if exposed to the sun. Light pale blue bloom. Flesh is pale yellow, transparent, moderately juicy and sweet in flavour. Pretty white blossom appears in the spring and dark green, very large leaves.

History: Raised at Long Ashton Research Station, Bristol in 1970. Introduced in 1989. Seedling of Count Althan's Gage.
