Hamamelis x intermedia ‘Pallida’ Witch Hazel Back To List Description: ‘Pallida’ is a large deciduous shrub with a spreading crown and broad oval, green leaves turning yellow in autumn. Pale yellow spidery flowers with a delicate fragrance appear on the bare branches throughout the winter. It's more upright than other varieties of Hamamelis, making it suitable for growing at the back of borders and in larger gardens. An excellent choice for adding a splash of colour to the winter garden. History: Raised in the garden of the Royal Horticultural Society from seeds which, according to the records came from a neglected nursery in Holland. Which may have been Kort’s Kalmthout Nursery in Belgium, on the Dutch border. Received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit in 1932.
