Description: A medium sized deciduous shrub with large, attractive, lobed, ruby-red leaves toning to a brown- bronze as the season progresses. Produces clusters of pink-white flowers in summer, followed by red autumn berries.

History: Native to eastern north America and introduced in 2000 by Jonathan Tuite, Norfolk.. Received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.

Physocarpus Growing Tips: Grows best in acidic, moderately fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. Prune regularly to encourage colourful new growth.
