A tree that has been grown in the field and then lifted out of the ground when dormant. Available from November to March. The roots are more open and the direct contact with the soil encourages them to settle in and establish more readily.
These are 2yr old trees that have been grown 1yr in the field and the second in a pot. Container trees can be planted at any time of the year but establish best when planted during the autumn and need to be watered well during the first summer.
Maple
Leaves have attractive pink variegation with deep red young shoots. Colourful winter bark, exceptional small tree.
Field Maple
Round headed, good for hedges. Five lobed leaves pinkish red turn golden russet and dark purple in autumn.
Golden Cappadocian Maple
The Golden Maple. Young leaves a stunning red turning golden yellow for many weeks. Wonderful autumn tints.
Cappadocian Maple
Fiery blood-red young leaves turn green in summer and later golden yellow autumn tints. An excellent specimen tree.
Snake Bark Maple
A fine snakebark with dynamic white and green striated bark. Dark green foliage turns orange in autumn.
Paper Bark Maple
Brown, curly, flaking old bark with yellowish green leaves turning scarlet red in the autumn.
Boxelder Maple
Young leaves have a broad, soft pink salmon coloured margin change to white. Attractive grey-white stems.
Yellow Boxelder Maple
Golden leaves throughout the summer and drooping racemes of golden tassle-like flowers appear in June.
Bushy headed tree with bright gold and yellow winter stems. Bright green summer foliage turns gold in autumn.
Purple Maple
Lime green flowers tinged red in April followed by large, intense purple leaves turning orange in autumn.
Upright Purple Maple
An upright but less vigorous form of Crimson King. Compact in growth with crimson leaves.
Variegated Maple
A popular garden tree. Globe-headed with green leaves and striking white marginal band. Yellowish autumn colour.
