Full Description
Description: Hellens Early is one of the best early Perry pear varieties. A strong growing tree with wide angled branches that become pendulous at the ends. Heavy crops of small, round, green-yellow fruit. Has low to medium tannin making an average to good quality perry. The tree itself is quite vigorous and wide spreading.
History: Originates from Gloucestershire or Herefordshire during the 18th Century. Raised by Radcliffe Cooke and named after his estate.
