Description: Taynton Squash is an rare old variety, now of some distinction. Fruits are greenish-yellow sometimes with a slight flush. The finest quality with a sweet, rich, distinctive flavour. Flesh is medium acid and tannin. A heavy cropper, but is usually biennial in habit. Flowers are white flushed with pink, adding a beautiful attractive feature during the spring.
History: Discovered in the village of Tayton in Gloucestershire during the 17th century.
