Gin Pear

Description: Gin is a rare but excellent perry variety for resistance to scab and canker. Heavy cropping medium sized fruits, green in colour with a slight orange flush and almost round in appearance. Acid and tannin to taste and good keeping quality. The tree itself has heavy, slightly spreading branches. Very popular in orchards around the Newent, Gloucestershire area.

History: Originated from Gloucestershire during the 19th century.
